English Language Challenges

Hello boys and girls! At first I would like to comment my own opinion about the methodology in the English classes. In this year, in the beginnings of the year, I believed it could be the same (and boring) kind of experience like other years. However I was wrong. I always said that the best way to learn English for me it was watching movies and listening music. But in this semester I try to make something different, which was learn to use some words in the past. I really liked the dynamics of these classes.

I think that the use of the blog like methodology it has two types of view. The first it is serving us to improve our knowledge with the words and writing. However, for other side it becomes a routine easy task to overcome that shows no major complications and it is not a challenge to us.

The principal thing that I hope to improve to the future in this area is the use of the verbs in past. I always had problems with that, for this reason I would like to continue with English classes for the future. Even more, I would like to know some country of English speaking like England to test me, to answer if I’m ok with the vocabulary.

Outside the class I don’t use very much the vocabulary. But sometimes I like speak alone (yes, is a little sad) in English only to try to find other words, or get better my pronunciation. Also, sometimes I speak in English with my girlfriend only to bother her, because she hates the English.          

i had a good first semester?

Hello again guys!. Well, I think this first semester was really estranged for me. I have to split up this months in three important areas (My work, my study and my own objectives) to decide how good or bad was, and of course what i have to improve to the future.

The two most important things that i have accomplished were open my first studio to make all the things that a lot time ago i wanted to do, and improve my objectives and methodology in my work. The only deficiency i had was not take advantage of the spaces in the university like the workshops or other kind of class.    

I would like improve more in my last semester. Also, in those times many people have been asked me to make pictures. That has been really funny and important to me. But above all this, the best of this semester has been the strikes by students, workers and teachers.

I think one of the most important targets that I have proposed has been to practice and get better in the painting technique. If you don’t know, my specialty is the art of printmaking (well, that is my principal class), and never in my degree I was taught the basics of painting. This semester was definitive to start testing my skills, and they have been successful.

I don’t know what the future holds for me. I hope to further progress on my objectives, not only in the art, also in my political live… good by first semester. 

My favourite picture of me.

This is a really funny blog session topic. The picture that I choose it’s from my vacations with my girlfriend. I really like this photo because besides to be a funny picture, was taken when we were going in the bus to Valparaiso. That represents the beginning of one of the greatest vacation that I ever held, with the person that I love.

This picture was from my first vacation that I take in my work, which was only the last February. The situation was really funny. At first, the bus delay at least 4 hours to came out of Santiago. This situation gave us the time to buy a lot of beers, white wine and of course a juicy melon. When the bus finally came out from the terminal we were a little drunk. Al the journey was laughter, jokes and lots of love.

When I see this picture, I get very nostalgic. That’s vacations were very important for me. A full week eating delicious meals. Like seafood or traditional pizza. Moreover our hostel (with it was really cheap) was located in an amazing place. The truth that when we arrived in Santiago, I cry like a baby. All the experience we spent together was amazing. That’s the most important, when I see this picture I feel nostalgia, but also I feel very happy. I hope to repeat this experience very soon. 

how green Im?

Hello again! For this session I will talk you about “how green I’m”. In this opportunity I’m going to answer some questions about this topic. However, I have to tell you that I’m not the “captain planet”. The truth is that I don’t have the habit of take care about the earth problems.

I think that the most of people learn about environmentally friendly practice across the publicity. That’s really weird because all this “save the earth” publicities comes from the greatest companies who destroy the planet to sell to us they own products, like Coca Cola or McDonalds.     

I don’t use any type of car. I don’t like them, and also I think that the only contribution is pollution. I prefer use my bike, also I like walk, I try to do that every time. But, in the worse of cases I use the public transport.

How I say, I don’t take care about the “earth problems”, not because I don’t matter, is just because I think there is other problems to resolve first, one of that is the social injustice. I support any kind of eco-organization, when these groups contain the problem of the planet, like other type of capitalism domination.

 It is a sad reality, but I think there are many things in our society that are not right, and one of them is the problem with our nature. In this country much things have to be resolve even, poverty, inequality. But like pearl jam says ...  is the evolution baby.

My Future Job.

Hello again. Well, today i'll talk about my future job. Actually, I'm finishing my degree in Art, but also im working in something that i love. However, I'm considering to study after Arts the degree in pedagogy.

I would like to work in my own studio to teach art. I dont really like the style of working in general, for example, i hate following the orders of any type of boss. Anyway, today, I'm working like a teacher in one of the most dangerous centers of SENAME. I have to teach in a teenager jail. I really like this job, but is not my principal objetive to my future. The atmosphere is not so bad, i have a good schedule, like my salary too.

I think i'm good with this area. In 2010 I had my first experience in a popular education project in three places of Santiago. From there i dicided to make this “popular school of art”.

I would like living to do my art, maybe salling my own work. I know that is really difficult, and obviously we need the money to live, but the most important is the vocation. I'm hoping to make this project.

I think my principal weaknesses are the punctuality and also I'm really disorganized. However, my principal strength I think is my charisma, and also i'm a really proactive person. 

 

The Best Concert...

Hello again everybody!!

Today I will talk about a concert that I went about seven years ago. Actually, I haven't seen a lot of concert really. However, I prefer other types of music events, called in the common way “tocatas”.

Anyway, the concert was in the Victor Jara Stadium. I think it was in October or November of 2008. For this concert came two foreign bands, one from Argentina called “Flema”, and another from Spain, Called “El Ultimo Ke Zierre”. Both are really important in the punk movement. Also, other band from the national scene came to this show, they are -i think- the most influential band of punk rock here, in Chile. They called “Fiskales Ad-Hok”.

I can't say that it was a wonderful show. I have been before in other music events more exiting like “black stone” or “never mind”, the official tribute of pearl jam and nirvana respectively. However, I think I had a fun time with my friends. We met a lot of amazing people from different places of Santiago.

In short, this experience was amazing. At the end of the concert, I don't really remember how I got to my bed. 

My favourite piece of art.

Hello everybody!! today i'm going to write about a Ecuadorian artist, but specific, one of the greatest works (for me) of this artist.

His name was Oswaldo Guayasamin, he died in 1999. He was really poor in his childhood, also he was a descendant of one of the most important tribes in Ecuador, “the Kichwa”. These reasons made him connect the art with the political issues in the American continent.

The piece of art that i chose for this opportunity is “The Guitarist”.

In 2011, when i was in a political activity in “La Bandera” i saw in a bigg wall this image, and i think it was a great work. I recognized Immediately the style of Guayasamin in the wall, and it was. However, that is not the principal reason why i like this paint. I think is really similar to the Egon Shiele work. Both takes the human body to decompose them and exalt the emotions. Also, the use of colour in “the Guitarist” was really amazing, just using three or maybe four colors, principally red and black, to build all the structure of the human in the picture.

In conclusion, “The Guitarist” is a great expression of Latin American art, it's not a coincidence that the first record album in Nicaragua after the revolution called “Guitarra Armada” with the image of this picture in the cover.

I think that Cuba is one of the most braves countrys in the continent. My choose was becouse i really like the history of this nation, the independence movements were a big example (in 1898, and 1959) of courage to all people who lives dominated by other forces, stronger and powerfull forces.

I think that Cuba has a mysticism, for a lot of things, and i really love that. For example, ones of the interested things was the image of che guevara, in the cuban revolution. Also, the most important thing that i think, and the reason to know him, is the value-based in this society. I have a great likeable for its culture.

When i was a kid, i remembered that i had an aunt who lived in cuba. I Always asked to my father; why my aunt had to live in other country? He talkted to my something about a “state stroke”. I dont understand really much. When i grow up, i started to learn more about its history.

the most fascinating for my about Cuba its the independence movement whitch was lead by JoséMartí and “The Mambis” army, who was a popular army created by poor peaoples, principally for peasants, against the Spanish empire.

I think about the style of life in Cuba. That really interesting for me, much more that the material things like the food or other stuff. Well, i have to admit, i really like the floklor in Cuba, i love the “son music”, like Carlos Puebla, Compai Segundo and of course, Buena Vista Social Club.

I would like to visit the revolution museum, my grandfather tall me about this and he tall me it was really awesome, above all to a “comunist like me”. But the most important thing that i would like to do is talk to the people, visit the old Havana, take some cuban rum and konow the cuban people, just live like one of them. Personaly, i would like to teach in Cuba. Im complete agree about a free system of education and health, so i really feel necesary try to form my skills like an artist, and teacher in this country.

To finish, i think that this country represent something really importan for all peoples who figths against social injustices, thats my principal reason, to know this land.
